Thank you for visiting the New Mexico Office of the Attorney General Public Records Request System.

By law, under the Inspection of Public Records Act, every person has the right to inspect public records of governmental entities in New Mexico.  The Act also makes compliance with requests to inspect public records an integral part of the routine duties of the officers and employees of the New Mexico Office of the Attorney General.

Please note that the New Mexico Office of the Attorney General Public Records Request System only provides access to our Office's public records.  Complaints about other government entities should be submitted through our Office's Electronic Complaint Submission (ECS) application, where you can submit your complaint to our office without having to fill out paper forms.  Similarly, if you would like to speak with someone in our Office in reference to a general question you have about the Inspection of Public Records Act or the Open Meetings Act, you can contact the Open Government Division at (505) 490-4060.  Finally, our Office generally does not store public records for other government entities, and requests for police records should be submitted directly to the applicable police department.
